P&O Cruises

THE REGION’S LARGEST AND LONGEST-SERVING CRUISE OPERATOR, P&O Cruises Australia leads the way in cruising as Australasia’s only ‘home-brand’ and favourite cruise line. Sailing for 85 years, with over 80 unique itineraries, the fleet departs from six home ports in Australia and New Zealand to destinations around Australasia, Asia and the South Pacific.

P&O ships offer contemporary interior designs, where customers can enjoy comprehensive live music and entertainment, world-class food options, waterslides and waterparks in a relaxed resort-style atmosphere.

P&O pioneered cruising from Australia in 1932 when the new 23,000-ton mail steamer Strathaird carried 1100 passengers on the first cruise to Brisbane and Norfolk Island. From 1945 to 1972, it was on the decks of P&O ships that over one million migrants from the UK came to Australia. Known as ‘Ten Pound Poms’, this mass arrival was a scheme devised by the Australian and British governments and helped to populate Australia.

Today, P&O’s fleet of five continue to lead the way in innovation and modernisation and provide a contemporary cruise holiday experience woven with a distinctly Australian, home-grown flavour to our guests.
